The distance between Chikmagalur and Bangalore by road is about 242 km.
Sarpadhari is the starting point of the trek, which is 15 km away from Chikmagalur. This town is located in the foothills of the Mullayanagiri range and is well connected to the major cities of Karnataka by Bus.Hire a jeep or take a local bus to Sarpadhari, once you reach Chikmagalur.
If you are driving from anyplace in Karnataka, next once you enter Chikmagalur, use the road towards Baba Budangiri. As you arrive at a place called Kamara, turn to the left. Next, you come across a Y Intersection. To proceed toward Mullayanagiri peak, you need to take the left cut here. After about half a kilometer drive on this route, lookout for a small arch on the left, which will be Sarpadhari the starting point of the trek. Most tourists touring this town in South India do not skip the Mullayanagiri peak, one of the most significant places to visit in Chikmagalur.
